5. Muslims think that white people are the devil:
Due to the popularity of people like Malcolm X, Louis Farrakhan, Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam (N.O.I.) in America, many people have become confused about the beliefs of orthodox Islam. The Nation of Islam is a sect of Islam that was formed in 1935 amongst the African American community during the time that they were experiencing extreme and overt forms of discrimination and racism. The Nation became a means to strengthen and empower the African American community in these times. However to achieve this goal, they altered the fundamental teachings of Islam and repackaged it as a religion for African Americans. They postulated that the Black man was god of the universe and that white people were evil people, i.e. devils. These ideas are far from the Islam taught 1400 years ago by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Islam is completely against racism. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) taught that all of mankind come from own soul, thus we are all brothers and sisters. It is God who made us different races, ethnicities, and tribes that we should get to know and understand one another.
